Afrobeat superstar Davido has talked about working with seasoned singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo, saying that she helped pave the way for him in the music industry.
The artist revealed that for a very long time, he had always wanted to work with Angelique Kidjo.
His favorite thing about her is that she can perform for different kinds of people in different kinds of settings.
Davido claims that the Grammy award winner made a huge impression on the world stage and that she gave up opportunities for new musicians like him.
He said: “I’ve always been wanting to work with Mama Africa (Angelique Kidjo), that’s what we call her, for a long long time. And she has represented us so well, you know, on the global scene. She opened doors for new artists like myself.”
