GRAFFITI ON THE WALL

Have you seen the graffiti?
It tells so much of nature’s beauty
I know you would stand and stare in awe
At the art’s ingenuity if you were here
I wish you were here!

The graffiti is made on the wall on which
We leaned every evening when we were little.
Remember those evenings when the moon was
Out so bright and the stars blazed like
Fluorescent lamps in the sky…
Our giggles and laughter!
I am fond of those memories

The graffiti is an image of you wearing the
Most beautiful smile.
Bittersweet the feelings I get whenever
I look upon the image.
I go there most evenings when I am down
And need someone to talk to.

It’s been lonely since you left
Death, alas! is the debt we all must pay
You’ve Paid yours; I might pay mine soon enough
Or owe a little longer.
Till that day comes
I will hold on to that smile
Beautifully painted as graffiti on the wall.
