Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has vowed to sue Microsoft, claiming that the tech giant is improperly utilising data from his social media firm.
“They trained illegally using Twitter data. Lawsuit time,” the multi-billionaire said in a tweet.
In response, Mr. Musk discussed Microsoft’s intention to drop Twitter from its corporate advertising network.
The business had already announced that as of Tuesday, April 25, it would “no longer support Twitter” on its advertising platform.
Therefore, using Microsoft’s social management tool to access their Twitter accounts would be unavailable to ad purchasers.
“Other social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn will continue to be available,” Microsoft said.
Following his $44 billion (£35.4 billion) acquisition of Twitter in October, Mr. Musk has reduced the employees of the company by approximately 80% and taken steps to strengthen its financial position, such as charging users for “blue tick” verification.
Major corporations, like as Apple, the developer of the iPhone, have stopped running advertisements on the platform in recent months due to worries about the moderation of content on the website.
When it came to Twitter’s “massive” decline in revenue in November, Mr. Musk blamed activists for exerting pressure on advertisers.
